Modular kiosk guides by city

Each city guide covers typical local uses, planning and licensing notes, prices and the kiosks that suit that city best.

Modular kiosks for sale in other UK cities

We deliver kiosks by crane lorry across Great Britain, so the same range serves smaller cities too. Historic cathedral and university cities need the most care: tight streets, conservation areas and listed buildings. Here is what to plan for, region by region.

In every one of these cities the process is the same: send an inquiry, receive a written quote with a drawing by email, and the kiosk arrives assembled.

Which kiosk suits a city site?

City kiosks come in 5 families. The right one depends on what the kiosk is for and how much it has to blend in with the street around it.

GRP is the all-rounder: moulded in one piece, with no joints to leak and nothing to rot or rust, and light enough (about 280 kg at 1.50 × 1.50 m) for the delivery lorry's own crane to place almost anywhere. Canopy and composite kiosks cost more and weigh more, but look like part of the building. The heritage kiosk is for streets where anything modern would look wrong.

City-centre checklist before you order

In a city, permissions and access take more planning than the kiosk itself. Check these before you book delivery:

  • Planning: a permanent kiosk on a street or square usually needs planning permission, especially in a conservation area or next to a listed building. We supply drawings for the application.
  • Street trading: selling in a public place usually needs a street trading licence or consent from the council.
  • Food: register as a food business with the council at least 28 days before you open.
  • Access: the crane lorry needs a clear approach and no overhead cables near the lift; a lift from a busy road may need a permit.
  • Base and power: a level slab, paving or four pads, and an electrician to connect the supply to the fitted consumer unit.

Questions buyers ask us

How much does a kiosk for a city site cost?

From £2,290 + VAT for an insulated panel kiosk, £3,890 + VAT for a GRP kiosk and £5,595 + VAT for a canopy kiosk. Heritage kiosks are priced on request.

Do you deliver to my city?

We deliver by crane lorry across Great Britain, from Aberdeen and Inverness to Truro. Delivery is quoted for your postcode.

Can you deliver to Northern Ireland?

Our standard crane-lorry delivery covers Great Britain. For Newry, Lisburn and the rest of Northern Ireland, we confirm delivery in your written quote.

Do I need planning permission for a kiosk?

A permanent kiosk in a public place usually does, especially in a conservation area. A temporary kiosk inside an event site is often treated differently. Check with your council; we supply drawings.

Which kiosk is best for a historic city centre?

A heritage kiosk, with a classic cornice and panelling in a colour to order.

Can a kiosk be moved to another pitch later?

Yes. GRP and panel kiosks arrive as one assembled unit, so a crane lorry can lift one off its base and set it down somewhere else.

How do I get a quote?

Send an inquiry with your size and postcode. You receive a written quote with a drawing by email, and the lead time is confirmed in the quote.
