A portable security cabin is built to be moved, not just delivered once. It is finished, insulated, glazed and wired in the factory, arrives in one piece and needs no foundations beyond a level base. When the job ends, the same crane lorry lifts it off and takes it to the next site.
That makes it the natural choice for construction sites, utility works, temporary car parks, events and any operation that will not stay in one place for ever. Our small panel cabins weigh from 100 kg and GRP cabins from 280 kg, so a lorry with its own crane can place them at a site gate without hiring a separate crane.
All our security cabins can be moved this way. This page covers the cabins best suited to sites that change: steel-framed insulated panel booths, GRP cabins and longer portable cabins for a gatehouse with welfare.

Every price below is ex works, + VAT. Delivery by crane lorry is quoted for your postcode in your written quote. Add any size to your quote basket and send an inquiry.

Hire rates vary by supplier, region and contract length, so we do not quote them. What we can give you is a fixed purchase price, and that makes the comparison simple.
Take the price of the cabin from the table above and divide it by the weekly hire rate you have been quoted. The answer is roughly the number of weeks after which buying costs less, before delivery. A 1.5 × 1.5 m GRP cabin at £3,890 + VAT, or a 1.1 × 1.1 m panel cabin at £2,290 + VAT, does not take many weeks of hire to match.
A construction site security cabin takes knocks from plant, dust and weather, and often stands empty overnight. Our insulated panel cabins are steel security cabins: a galvanised steel frame with steel-skinned sandwich panels, a lockable door and PVC double-glazed windows. They are the lowest-cost way to put a warm, lit guard post at a site gate.
GRP cabins are the alternative where the cabin will stand for a long time or move often. The one-piece moulded shell has no joints to leak, does not rot or rust and wipes clean of site dirt.
For a gatehouse with room for a desk, screens and a WC, a portable cabin or container site office gives you a galvanised steel frame, bolted rather than welded, that can be dismantled and re-used many times. For more on steel construction, see steel cabins; for exposed sites, see our anti vandal cabin advice.

Small and mid-size cabins travel fully assembled on a lorry with its own crane (HIAB). The driver lifts the cabin off the bed and onto your base, and the same lorry can collect it and set it down at the next site.
Portable cabins and container offices can also be delivered flat-packed and bolted together on site, which helps where access is tight. See flat pack cabins.

Every GRP and panel security cabin leaves the factory with an LED ceiling light, double sockets and a small consumer unit. On site, an electrician connects the incoming supply, usually from the site's mains supply or temporary builder's supply.
If the site has no mains connection yet, tell us your power source in your inquiry. We will confirm what the cabin's electrics need, and any extra sockets for CCTV, barrier controls or a heater, in your written quote.
A security guard on a long shift needs a toilet and somewhere to wash. Welfare provision on a construction site scales with headcount, so count your security staff too. As a guide, the welfare regulations set a minimum of 1 WC and 1 washbasin for up to 5 people, 2 for 6–25 people and 3 for 26–50 people.
There are two ways to cover it. Arrange toilets and welfare facilities separately on site, or choose a larger cabin with the WC built in: the 3 × 7 m container office with WC is £4,890 + VAT.
For full site offices and canteens, see site cabins.
Our products are used in over 140 countries. Production is ISO 9001:2015 and CE certified, and every cabin carries a 12-month warranty against manufacturing and assembly faults.
Cabins are built to order, so the price you see is the price we build to. Send an inquiry with your site, the number of guards and the power you have, and we reply with a written quote by email and a drawing.
