At 1.50 × 1.50 m — 5ft × 5ft — this hut fits beside a barrier, a yard gate or a site entrance where a larger cabin would block the lane. It still gives one guard room to sit, write and stay warm through a full shift. It is the smallest GRP size among our security cabins.
Inside there is space for a desk along one wall, a chair and a small heater. Windows on up to three sides give a clear view of the gate, and you choose which side the door goes on when we send the drawing with your quote.

GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) is moulded in one piece, so the shell has no joints to leak and nothing to rot or rust. The smooth white finish wipes clean, and the insulated walls and roof mean a small heater keeps the hut comfortable in winter.
It is also light. At about 280 kg, the hut can be lifted by the delivery lorry's own crane over a fence or into a tight corner, and moved again later if the entrance changes.
If the post is only staffed for short shifts, or the budget is tight, a 1.35 × 1.35 m insulated panel booth is lighter still at 125 kg and costs £2,690 + VAT. For a post staffed on full shifts every day, the GRP hut is the one we recommend.
If the size is right but the look or the protection level is not, a similar one-guard footprint comes in four other builds, from a £2,690 panel booth to a £39,900 BR7 armoured cabin. Of the five, the 1.5 × 1.5 m GRP hut is the second-lowest price, and far lighter and cheaper than the canopy, composite or armoured versions.
Need a little more room without a wider front on the lane? The 1.50 × 2.15 m GRP hut at £4,490 + VAT keeps the 1.5 m width and adds 65 cm of depth — enough for a longer desk for paperwork or screens. The 1.50 × 2.70 m GRP cabin at £4,690 + VAT adds a serving hatch option for ticket or car park use.
| Build | Footprint | Height | Weight | Price + VAT |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Insulated panel booth | 1.35 × 1.35 m | 2.35 m | 125 kg | £2,690 |
| GRP guard hut (this hut) | 1.50 × 1.50 m | 2.40 m | 280 kg | £3,890 |
| Canopy cabin booth, stone-effect cladding | 1.40 × 1.40 m | 2.75 m | 700 kg | £5,595 |
| Composite booth, composite cladding | 1.40 × 1.40 m | 2.75 m | 850 kg | £6,890 |
| Bulletproof cabin (BR7) | 1.50 × 1.50 m | 3.00 m | 3,000 kg | £39,900 |
The same hut serves as a guard post, a site sign-in point or a small ticket kiosk — the shell is identical, only the fit-out changes. These are common places for it.

The hut travels fully assembled on a lorry with its own crane (HIAB). The driver lifts it straight onto your base.
For a 280 kg hut the base can be simple: a concrete slab, paving or four level concrete pads at the corners. Bolt it down on exposed sites. An electrician then connects the supply to the consumer unit.
Before delivery day, check three things: the lorry can park close enough to the base for its crane to reach, nothing overhead blocks the lift, and a supply cable is ready for the electrician. We confirm access for your postcode in your written quote.
A guard hut inside an existing site, or a temporary one, usually needs no planning permission; a permanent hut at a public entrance may — check with your council, or ask us in your inquiry. We can supply drawings for an application.
