A food kiosk is a small catering unit that stays in one place: an insulated room with a serving hatch, power and lighting, where one to three people prepare and sell food or drink to customers standing outside. Unlike a van or trailer it has no wheels or engine. It sits on a level base and is lifted in by crane, so it looks and works like a small permanent shop.
A street kiosk is a simple way to sell fast food or coffee wherever people walk past and want something quick: park cafés, seafronts and piers, station forecourts, hospital and university grounds, sports grounds, garden centres, markets and retail parks. Four common concepts:

Every price below is ex works, + VAT, for a finished kiosk with door, window, lights and sockets. Catering extras such as a counter, sink or extra circuits are options we confirm in your written quote and price in your quote, and delivery by crane lorry is quoted for your postcode. Start with the menu, not the building. The menu decides the equipment, the equipment decides the power and water you need, and those decide the size. A coffee machine, grinder and fridge fit in 1.5 × 1.5 m; a griddle, fryer, preparation counter and hand-wash basin need 2.15 × 2.7 m or more.
Then plan the queue. The serving hatch goes on the side customers approach from, with the till at the hatch and the preparation line behind it, so staff are not crossing each other. A simple food and beverage kiosk plan:

A food kiosk is a food business, so the usual rules apply whether it stands on a seafront or in a car park. Register as a food business with your local council at least 28 days before you start trading — registration is free — and the council's food safety officers may inspect your set-up.
Where open food is handled, inspectors usually expect a separate hand-wash basin with hot and cold water, surfaces that are easy to clean and adequate ventilation. A GRP kiosk helps: the moulded shell is smooth, rot-proof and wipes clean, and we confirm the interior finish for food use on the drawing. Tell us your menu and we confirm in your written quote what can be built in — for example a sink, water heater or extra vents — and show it on the drawing.
Trading on a street or in a public space normally needs a street trading licence or the landowner's consent, and a permanent kiosk may need planning permission. Check with your council early; we can supply drawings for an application. Every kiosk leaves the factory with:

Hire suits a one-off event or a trial season. If you plan to trade from the same pitch for longer, compare the total hire cost over that period with the price of a catering kiosk for sale above. Once you own the kiosk there is no weekly charge, you can fit it out exactly for your menu, and you can move it or sell it on when you change pitch.
Buying used? Check the roof and window seals for leaks, have the electrics tested, and make sure the layout suits your equipment — a secondhand kiosk comes with someone else's hatch and sockets in someone else's places. A new kiosk is drawn around your menu and has a 12-month warranty against manufacturing and assembly faults.
Catering kiosks travel fully assembled on a lorry with its own crane (HIAB). The driver lifts the kiosk straight onto your base, ready for the electrician once it is down. You need clear access for the lorry and no overhead cables near the lift.
The base should be firm and level: a concrete slab, paving or four level concrete pads at the corners. Bolt the kiosk down in exposed spots such as seafronts. An electrician then connects the supply to the consumer unit, and a plumber connects water and waste if your fit-out includes a sink.
Because each kiosk is one self-contained unit, it can be lifted out and moved to a new pitch — useful for seasonal trade such as ice cream on the coast.

Our products are used in over 140 countries. Production is ISO 9001:2015 and CE certified. GRP café kiosks like the one pictured at the top of this page suit hotels, visitor attractions and venue entrances, and the same GRP kiosks are available with a serving hatch for food and coffee.
You buy direct from the factory, so the price you see is the price we build to, and your written quote comes with a drawing. Selling goods rather than food? See outdoor retail kiosks. Need premium cladding? See canopy cabins.
